She said the cutest thing

I know that all things are relative, but some things cut through things like ideological differences, age variables and geographical data, things like toddlers interpreting pop culture. Luckily in our house that has yet to include Hannah Montana or Bratz Dolls. Lately Briar has taken to asking to watch the "pirates," which means Pirates of the Caribbean. It's kind of scary, really scary actually.

But Briar, ever the sweet-faced, let's-all-be-happy-girl, sees no evil.

"Are you scared, honey? You want to watch something else?" I asked as I stepped closer to her, my hand squeezing her should softly.

"No. No, mom. The pirates. But do you see that guy? Do you see him? That guy who ate too many noodles? His face is hurting because of so many noodles."

Nice try Disney, my kid thinks your Davy Jones is the Ramen-achey face guy.

Funny.

My kid loves those movies but she's all about CAPTAIN! JACK! SPARROW! She jumps up and down like a bobby soxer.

Noodles. What a trip. Well, they do look a little like noodles if you squint your eyes and turn your head. Hopefully she won't dive head first into a bowl of double noodle soup to recreate the look. :)

That is awesome. We just tried to watch The Little Mermaid and my children were nearly frozen with fear.

Noodle guy freaks me out. But then Johnny Depp comes on screen and soothes my soul.

Hee hee ~ at least she isn't scared of him! I find him quite frightening myself!

That is precious!!
My daughter loves those movies!! She's all about the pirates of the car-a-bean ;-)

It's great that kids see one thing and we see another.

That's awesome. We've never seen any of those movies. Maybe we'll have to check them out.

We took Shortman to Olive Garden for his birthday dinner tonight. My BELLY hurts from too many noodles.

too much pasta usually makes my belly grow, which I guess IS preferable to strange noodle like things hanging from my chin

I will never look at a bowl of noodles the same way again.

That is so stinkin' cute. Aren't you so glad that you are documenting these precious things? I really love the candid things that my kids say.
