Faucet Love

This isn't another kitchen post, though it does have to do with the belly. It's time for an update considering that in the last 24 hours two people I would most often describe as having great tact have said to me, "Wow, you've gotten bigger!" Now, considering I see both of them on a nearly daily basis, save the weekends, I knew this meant my belly and not my ass, or at least I hope it didn't.

Anyway, seemed perhaps a belly update was in order. I am about 37 weeks at this point. Home stretch, or the home crawl, maybe even the home limp. I took another belly/faucet shot. The two seem to be having some sort of torrid romance as my belly button cranes evermore forward to get closer to the head of the faucet.

As I took this I discovered that the skin on my stomach has gotten incredibly transparent, the lines remind me of those weird electricity balls

that were big around the same time as the Magic 8 Balls.

Stay tuned for one more update, but believe me when I say, we will not be revisiting this faucet belly comparison as I make the trek back from faucet kissing to mere counter grazing.

Amanda, just wondering, did you have Briar and Avery early, late or right on your due date?

The belly button is trying to kiss the facet;) Beautiful Belly!

I can't believe you're almost done! I remember on your blog when you found out you were pregnant.

ohmygosh, the veins!! That's how I knew I was pregnant with my second -- suddenly my chest was completely translucent. It's a beautiful thing, girl.

That is the best belly shot I've ever seen!

If you're as uncomfortable as I am at this point (and I am only 32 weeks) I hope that baby decides to come soon for you!

Oh dear lord, Mama. How on earth did you do that with no stretch marks? Thanks for sharing that big beautiful belly shot!!

I can't believe this is the home stretch either. I still remember that video of you in the bathroom and your beautifully excited face like it was yesterday.

And oh my goodness, I have the most sensitive belly button on the planet, and just seeing your cute little outie makes mine itch.

37 weeks! Wow! It really could be any time now.

Oh, it's beautiful. But do you know what I love? The little toys scattered around the sink. It could just as well be my own sink. Without the 37 week belly.

What a great photo! I found your blog a few weeks ago and enjoy your writing so much. I am also pregnant (32 weeks) and have also been getting the "Whoa, check out your belly!" comments. I want to go home and copy your photo, but I am not tall enough (belly button same height as counter!) and I can't bring myself to take the typical profile belly shots. But I am guessing I will someday be nostalgic and wish I had…

I forget how my skin looked a little like a road map when I was pregnant; so amazing.

Not much longer, mama. Not much longer.
