I Don't Need a Nap, Mommy!

"I jus'hafta watch Rek!"
Said in an I'll-have-my-way-or-you'll-regret-it scream.

Not even through the opening credits of Shrek.

Jack did this very thing last night at bedtime. Objected strenuously, only to be asleep within a minute.

Gotta love these kids.

I wish Zoe would fall asleep like that once in a while. If the TV is on... she's WIDE AWAKE.

Even her pose is dramatic. SO cute!

Looks like she still enjoys her Boppy. How cute!

So this is the age where they say, "Mommy, you were right!" isn't it? ;)

You got lucky! I wish my little girl would just pass out when she gets tired. Instead, she transforms into a screaming, angry beast.

so funny. my almost 3 year old (Sunday) does the EXACT same thing. She insists that she's old enough to not need a nap, and yet she can't manage to keep her eyes open most of the time.
Incidentally, going back to your posts about being snubbed invites to parties, my daughter's having one on Sunday, and despite the geographic impossibility of it all, consider you and your beautiful daughters invited! I've been in that same situation, and the whole mommy clique thing is a damn joke!

Oh, what a sleeping angel. I can't even believe she could hold that pose...she looks like she's about tho slide off the couch!

Lest you misunderstand, Exhibit 1 in the "She's never been a great sleeper" series, Exhibit 2, and an angel...? Not all the time. But she sure is cute. And I wouldn't trade her for all the world.

Oh so so sweet!

Don't you love it when they think they are getting their way? Her little brain went...
"Yep, just me and a little Rek. Nap? NEVER!!! Ahhhh. Big pillow. Cuddle. Snore."

And the best part about the aforementioned invite is that our children are all the same age (Emma is 3 and Nicholas is 18 months), so there'd be built in playmates for everyone! I wish you and your kids could be here for the party. Better yet, I wish I was up in the Adirondacks! I miss NY so much. Homesick does not even begin to cover it.

My 2 year old granddaughter is living with us for the time being. I am amazed how often a similar thing happens around here. They just can't let go williningly.

Peace
